I cannot overstate the impact of this fellowship on my scholarship and my career. I completed most of my dissertation research and made connections in Utah, upon which I draw to this day. My forthcoming book, on Wakara ((c. 1815-1855) with Basic Books) also stems, in part, from my time at the Center. I'll be on sabbatical this next year writing the book (and supported by the prestigious NEH public scholar fellowships.
